Antique cast iron griddle with gate mark and raised number 8 and letter B on the bottom. Excellent restored condition. The gate mark or raised line across the bottom indicates it was manufactured in the mid to late 1800s. The maker is unknown. Sits flat on a glass surface with no wobble or spinning. No chips or cracks. Weighs in at 3 pounds 4 ounces. The cooking surface measures 9 7/8 inches across. The bottom surface is excellent with a nice clear letter and number. The cooking surface is nice and smooth and will function well. These pieces were made more crudely than more modern versions. The creases and lines in the cooking surface that can be seen in the photos are just part of the casting process.
