The LCD screen is flawless and displays a clear image without degradation.
The viewfinder displays a clear image.
The lens is clear with no scratches or dust.

* Reason for being a "defective" item:

This product has been tested for video and still image recording, playback, zoom, and initialization using Memory Stick and DVD-R.

However, the video is displayed and saved in black and white.
It is unknown whether this is a problem with the settings or the main unit.

DVDs and Memory Sticks recorded on other models display color video.

Therefore, there is no problem if the main use is playback.
