1998 Happy Holidays Barbie. This special edition Barbie doll touts a black gown with glitter print, topped off with a pink cape and jeweled tiara. Released in 1998 to celebrate the holidays. The actual item you will receive, shows Barbie with her black dress and pink short cape on the back of the box (as shown in photo), but she is actually wearing a long pink satin cape (as shown in photo). Please see back of box for the famous misprints (Image on back shows doll wearing a different outfit than she is sold in. See photos for description). This is truly a collectors piece! This is the last of the “Happy Holidays” series that was made from 1988-1998, when Mattel then switched to just Holiday Barbies in 1999. This was also the first time Barbie wore her hair in an elegant “up-do” with a tiara.
