Set of beautiful vintage Meyer US Navy uniform buttons in the original box. They're goldtone metal and are marked Fire Gilt on back. Seven buttons with shanks, measuring 3/4" and a bit over 1/2" in diameter, three 1/4" studs with shanks and one set of two buttons connected by a length of chain. Looks like more buttons were originally in this elaborate box.
The box is wood with patterned paper exterior and velvet interior, with sticker inside and outside as shown. Metal hinges. It's also beautiful but in poor condition outside -- the back is severely damaged, as shown, and it doesn't stay closed. Box measures 1" high x 6 3/4" x 3 3/4".
