I believe the inspiration for this item came from the practice of putting a part-time job salary in an envelope and folding it in half with a rubber band.
You store bills like they're in an envelope, so it's not the easiest to take money in and out, but that's part of the charm.
I use a different color myself, and it works well as a card case, and you can tap your IC card for transit without taking it out. (Though it doesn't matter if you use your phone to go through the ticket gates.)
