Equally inspired by analog synthesizers and the lush Swedish countryside, Genome marks the first collaboration between veteran techno producers Patrick Siech and Sebastian Mullaert (Minilogue), with this first part of the three-EP series appearing on Richie Hawtin's label Minus. Recorded live to tape in spring 2014, these four tracks make for a transformative dancefloor experience that swoops through soulful, sweaty analog techno with flourishes of 303-style acid. One of the duo's mesmerizing live tracks forms the basis for the 10-minute "Main Mix," with it's burbling, arpeggiated synth lead almost breathing on it's own as propulsive drums gently come into focus.
