Logo Incised on Bottom Vintage Pilgrim Colonial Firelighter Hammered Brass. Old, probably antique, firelighter in hammered brass banded with studs. Hinged part on lid missing. Handle with keyhole for hanging. Lighting stick or wand with absorbent porous stone-like end. Bottom of container is incised with PILGRIM above an oval with COLONIAL FIRELIGHTER MFG BY HOBOKEN W.I. ANDIRON CO. inside. Hang by fireplace, fill with kerosene or lamp oil and let the lighting stick soak in this. When ready to light a fire, light the stone end, making a torch. Then use the torch to light a fire.
