This is a set of Chūgen Sho (中原書) shogi pieces, crafted by the Nisshōren Kōshō (日将連光匠) workshop. The wood is presumed to be Satsuma boxwood, but there is no documentation to confirm this. It comes with one extra pawn.
It was primarily used for arranging game records. After each use, it was wiped clean and handled with care. The pieces have been polished and beveled, and despite being used, they are in good condition. However, I cannot recommend this set to those seeking brand-new quality.
Although not brand new, I will include the pictured piece bag.
