Stunning woven basket presented in a deep mellowed chocolate brown, thin reeds are woven through vertical supports. Around the base and rim of lid, bentwood bamboo is wrapped giving it strength. A handle rises fully above lid made of splint wood. A woven pattern of black goes across the lid, while old strings are tied (likely once holding a few beads). The rich patina and texture of this piece make it sculptural in effect!
